stuff and nonsense

Well, here I am, creating my first post from the ever-loving and newly-released WordPress 2.1. I wish I could show you the back end of things - it’s very nice.

So, there’s some things coming up for this site…

So, my old CSS discussion group (I only say “my” because I’m the one hosting the mailing list) that was started last summer has revved up again. It looks like it’s been “voted in” that this site house the things we come up with. So far, a lot of people are pretty excited about it, and challenges are a-flyin’. People want to learn. (For some reason, they all think I’m some kind of CSS goddess. Amazing!)

So you’ll probably be seeing some new tutorials and things that are inspired by the discussions we will have showing up on this site. I’m also working on a new version of my PHP form - it’s grown popular over the last few months. I’ve even had a couple of people hire me to install it on their servers. The new version will have better instructions (I hope!) and even more abilities. I’m hoping to incorporate URL limits in the comments section (although it prevents injection attempts, it doesn’t stop people from sticking unreal amounts of spam URLs in the comments field - which is just annoying as hell), and I’m also wanting to incorporate file attachment abilities. I fear the attachments though - I’m not sure how you check those for security reasons - and I want to be sure that it *does* do that before letting it loose on the masses! (And for the record, someday I hope to release it as a WordPress plugin as well - but that may be in the distant future!)

What else - oh yes, I’m going to be running through the old tutorials and re-checking them on my browsers. I’ve been told (by only one person - but I’m checking anyway) that a couple of them don’t work in particular browsers. I want to check - even if it is only one person that’s said it, because I do check all of my tutorials in everything I have available to me - and I don’t post them if they don’t look right. So I want to clear that possibility up.

And I will also be updating my Orange Crush theme again, just to be sure it works - not only with this new, updated version of WordPress - but also with PodPress as well (I’ve had a few people ask about that!)

And, I also have a new theme coming out - of course now I have to recheck it because of the new release, but it’s a-comin’ And let’s not forget the once-mentioned ZenCart tutorials I also plan to add to my little collection here - that is also in the works.

So there’s some news on the homefront - things that are up and moving behind the scenes here. A BIG list with little time. Let’s see what pops out first!
