Orange Crush help needed? Read this first!
I guess I should have made this clear when I released my theme in the first place. ![]()
If you need assistance with a glitch or something that I made, I *do* appreciate knowing about it so I can fix it for future downloaders/users of the theme. However, please let me make something clear to all requestors:
If you have an issue, PLEASE do not email me with “Such-and-such isn’t working. How do I fix it?” - and nothing more.
I can tell you right now if I get emails like this (which the majority of the emails I’ve gotten *have* been like this) it’s a HUGE waste of time. It means I have to sit down and email you back with a basic line that says “I need more information,” and then there’s a big back and forth trying to get the proper info (or, in some cases, you completely ignore my request for more info, and move to the Wordpress boards - to which I’ve seen the answers turn you right back to me!)
When I receive something as ambiguous as the question above, I can’t help you. There’s so many things that could have gone wrong, that’s it’s a TOTAL shot in the dark to try and solve your issue. You simply asking a question like that is like going to the doctor and saying “I have pain. Fix it,” and not telling the doctor any of the symptoms. (How strong is the pain? Where is it located? How long has it been going on? Stuff like that.)
When you ask me a question in regards to the theme - provide a link. Tell me *exactly* what the issue is. If you’re getting an error message, what is it? I need to know these things to be able to diagnose (and hopefully fix) the problem.
But simple “How do I fix my site?” questions ain’t gonna cut it.
I honestly have to say this - as much as I hate to: but I *do* have a very busy life. Although I love creating themes (and I have more in the works, and I’m always looking to improve my skills), and I honestly do not mind answering questions to the best of my ability - theme creation isn’t a priority for me. Not only do I have a family to raise, but I do have a business to run as well - and those things are my top priorities. Sometimes, I can’t answer an email as quickly as you’d like it to be answered - but keep in mind it WILL be answered as soon as I can get to it.
Unless it’s the blanket “how do I fix my site?” question mentioned above. I’m just going to let you know now that if I get comments/emails like this, I will not be wasting my time with an answer. I need more information than this to help you - and as much as I’d like to help, I can’t spend my time trying to dig more information out of you. So I’ll just say when you email to ask, PLEASE provide as much info as you can. It makes it easier, and faster to fix, for everyone.
